TRAVEL DETAILS
- Cinque Terre is the land of five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.
-Roads to Cinque Terre are very crooked, so you better travel by train then by car. You can take a train, for example from La Spezia and in a few minutes you can reach any of the villages.
-There are walking trails between the villages(the most famous is Via dell'Amore),but most of them are closed. You have to check a tourist information center to see which one is opened for hiking. The single one opened when I was visiting Cinque Terre, was the one between Monterosso al Mare and Vernazza - there were lots of steps to climb, but the views were great, magnificent.
-If you're visiting Cinque Terre area, you may also want to visit La Spezia and especially Portovenere - such a nice place.
PERSONAL THOUGHTS DETAILS
-Cinque Terre is a whimsical and romantic place. At the time I visited Cinque Terre, there were lots of fire flies playing in the air, making this place more magic that it already is.It was really a joy for me to be surrounded by playful lights, it made me feel like I was in a fairyland.
-I wouldn't recommand to visit Cinque Terre with kids. It's a rocky landscape, there aren't many playgrounds, lots of stairs...so you have to be extra careful.
